(Madison, WI. December 14th 2017) - For the fourth time, Leonardo Academy, Inc., has received recognition as a Green Professional through the Wisconsin Green Masters Program. The Green Masters Program recognizes and assesses Wisconsin businesses on their sustainability performance in a variety of categories. Leonardo Academy participates in the Green Masters Program in support of the sustainability work of the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council.
“Participation in the Green Masters Program recognizes the participants’ commitment to environment, sustainability and social responsibility,” said Michael Arny, Leonardo Academy President. “It’s a hands-on tool that companies can use to review their sustainability performance. We look forward to our ongoing participation in this program.”
The program is grounded in an in-depth survey where points are rewarded for a variety of actions. These actions are grouped into areas that include: Energy, Climate, Workforce, Governance, and Community and Educational Outreach.
Leonardo Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to leveraging the competitive market to advance sustainability. They offer a range of services including tailored emissions inventories and offset programs, organizational sustainability program development and implementation, grant writing and administrative services for national vehicle emissions reduction projects, LEED consulting, Arc, WELL and Fitwel support, and more. Leonardo Academy played a major role in the development and implementation of U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Existing Buildings rating system and has been an ANSI-accredited standards developer since 2006. Leonardo Academy has developed and is implementing the ANSI/LEO-4000 American National Standard for Sustainable Agriculture. By utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to sustainability strategies, education, and implementation, the organization strives to make sustainability practical for everyone. This year marks their 20th anniversary. The WI Sustainable Business Council is a network of Wisconsin businesses that are leading the integration of sustainability principals with business operations. Wisconsin businesses are playing a leadership role in ensuring the protection and preservation of our natural resources as well as in creating a vibrant and growing economy.
