| | Message Fr om the President In February and March Leonardo Academy made progress within its sustainability programs and services, including training, standards development and fire suppression.Our Sustainability Training team delivered in-person training in Minnesota and in Washington DC on LEED® Green Associate and LEED for Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance, as well as live webinars with unlimited geographic access. Our upcoming training in Madison, WI was announced for an April date, but it has been rescheduled for May 24. We also kicked off our on-demand webinar program with a free on-demand webinar on Green Leasing.New members of the National Sustainable Agriculture Standards Committee were welcomed, and we are continuing to recruit for the remaining open spots for that committee and the subcommittees. The kickoff of the 2011 fundraising campaign began last month. We were also busy preparing for the Agriculture Standards Committee meeting April 13 and 14, 2011 at the Gap, Inc. headquarters in San Francisco, California. The draft Standard for Sustainable Electronic Gaming Machines has been released for public comment. By commenting you can help define what makes a slot machine sustainable. (Invitation to Comment)Finally, our Sustainable Fire Suppression Program continues to promote participation in our survey to explore the extent of awareness of fire suppression environmental and sustainability issues. (Complete the 5-minute survey.) In March, I participated in the annual meeting of the Coalition for Responsible Fire Suppression in San Antonio, Texas. |
