Leonardo Academy, a charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainability, is preparing an assessment of the environmental impacts of fire protection industry and how these impacts can be reduced. To prepare this assessment we need more data on the fire suppression systems that are currently in use in buildings. Leonardo Academy is carrying out a field research project to obtain the data. You can help us gather the information we need by participating in our survey of the fire protection systems being used in your buildings.
This project has the aim of raising awareness and understanding of the contribution of fire suppression agents to building emissions footprints and environmental risks for building occupants and owners, as well as how these impacts and risks can be reduced. The information collected by this survey will be used to develop strategies for reducing the environmental impacts and risks of fire suppressions systems while maintaining or improving the fire protection performance of these systems. The strategies will be designed to meet the information and decision- making needs of existing building occupants and owners as well as those of architects, owners and future occupants of new buildings being constructed. Leonardo Academy will make the project results available to building occupants, owners, managers, architects and the building industry.
